Carlisle, an escaped convict wanted for train robbery, leaped from a ranch house on La Bonte creek near Glendo, Wyoming, as a sheriff's posse closed in. He was wounded in the hand and the posse lost his trail in a heavy snowstorm. Temperatures were ten degrees below zero.
Grand Island Nebraska December 2 Associated Press reports Lester Kittering was killed yesterday by the explosion of a bomb he had brought home as a souvenir from France. He had returned from service only a few months ago.
Reports from El Paso indicate large quantities of radical literature attacking the U S government and praising Bolsheviki and the wobblies have been found distributed at Fort Bliss Texas. The materials were identified by military authorities and are being investigated as a security concern.
TokIo dispatch reports Bolshevik eastward march in Siberia growing into a serious problem for Japan. Japan may issue a note to the United States declaring that respect for law and order in China Manchuria and Eastern Siberia could require a major military campaign and seek moral financial and military support from the United States.
