Captain Courney of the San Francisco fire department rescued a score of men women and children including his own wife from a fire that consumed eight residences. Damages are estimated around $100000.
Customs officials seized boxes and trunks believed to be used by two fur smuggling gangs to bring furs into Seattle. The furs were shipped from Eagle and St. Michael and hidden in false bottoms and disguised packaging.

An age-old labor dispute in Honolulu sees a suit filed by Buenaventura Aginga to prove the Hawaiian Sugar Planters' Association exists and to recover 500 for alleged breach of contract. The planters argue Aginga forfeited return passage rights after striking, shielding the association from the expense repayment.

An American crew will command the ship for its first trial flight before a trans Atlantic voyage planned for next spring or summer. The 2 724 000 cubic foot gas bag will exceed all prior airships in size and power, with six engines generating 1950 horsepower and a top speed around 75 mph. Cape May hangar is lengthened to 700 feet, with Lakehurst facilities not expected until 1921.
