Robert Bird Dies Friday In Frankfort
FRANKFORT Ky Robert BR Bird 66 former judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals died Friday at Kings Daughters Hospital after a short illness Bird served on the appellate court from 1957 to 1965 defeated for re election in 1964 but remained in Frankfort He was a Williamsburg native and held posts including counsel for the unemployment compensation commission director of the Kentucky Employment Service and assistant attorney general He practiced law at London from 1948 until his 1956 election to the Court of Appeals He is survived by his wife Mabel Isaacs a daughter Mrs H W Pennington and a sister Mrs Harold Browning Sr His first wife Edna Davis of Mt Vernon died in 1949 Funeral will be at 230 p m Sunday at Sparks Dowell and Martin Funeral Home Mt Vernon Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
