Desperado Fisher shot dead by posse after deadly county clash

Mrs. Nettie F. Hoss reports from Bentonville on July 18 that George Fisher, the man who killed Sheriff Garrett at Southwest City on July 16, was cornered in a corn field and killed by a surrounding posse. Fisher bore a pistol but was quickly slain while handcuffed. speculation grows that his father may have killed Garrett, as the elder is under arrest.
