The record notes a Oklahoma delegation led by Gov Barnes visiting Little Rock and Hot Springs to discuss state capital location. Local opinion mocks Hot Springs as capital site unless free buildings and grounds are provided, calling the plan “monkey business.”

In Cross county W T Jones was shot and killed as a Tron Mountain passenger train pulled out from Levesque Station. Jones was on the depot platform when a passenger opened fire killing him with a shot to the temple. The conflict stemmed from an old family feud.
Lumber inspector William P. Kirsch of Houston Bros. was arrested in Pine Bluff on charges of stealing two carloads of lumber from E. C. Collier. Collier says Kirsch billed the lumber to Houston Bros. under their name as the shippers.
W. W. Stout ex post master at Morrilton was bound over on charges of defrauding the government. He allegedly procured the names of deceased soldiers and widows to claim 160 acre homesteads, submitting papers to Washington for entries.
During Desha circuit court, Judge Anthony Grace presided as Arthur Currie was arrested on horse theft charges. He pled guilty on Saturday and received a penitentiary sentence. He was transported to Little Rock for incarceration that afternoon.
The capitol commission adopts a majority report from a special committee that investigated Architect Mann's fees for drawing plans. The panel recommends paying Mann five percent of the building cost, about 850000 total, with half due upfront and the rest as work progresses.
Deputy marshals killed the outlaw Dick after a chase from the Territory near Maysville. Surrounded he fired on officers and was shot multiple times, with no fewer than six bullets striking him.
