Finger loss in factory accident at Connersville plant

Wallace Porter from the Connersville furniture factory machine department suffered a severe injury last Friday around two o clock while operating a rip saw. His left middle finger was badly injured and had to be amputated at the end. Dr Dillman performed the operation and dressed the wound.

McFarlan Carriage Co Sues Wagon Co for $8000 in Wheels Contract

The McFarlan Carriage Co files in circuit court an $8000 damage suit against the Onneernya3 Wagon Co over an 1900 contract for ten thousand sets of wheels. Only 6445 sets were supplied. 3564 remain undelivered, with price increases since May raising value per set. Estoppel from market unavailability forced cancellation of orders, causing potential profits of $4000.

Big Four station improvements outline new rail service

The Big Four station area will gain a cement pavement extension to Fourth Street. The passenger station will be repainted and improved while the freight station follows. The old Second Street turntable will be restored and an extra northbound train from Connersville to Fort Wayne and an extra southbound train from Fort Wayne to Connersville are planned. The 8 45 a m southbound train will serve Cincinnati day business, arriving 10 55 a m and returning at 4 p m reaching Connersville at 6 05 p m, with downtown departures and arrivals in Cincinnati.

Miraculous Escape At Rootes Foundry Ladder Fall

Thursday afternoon C A Leming fell eighteen feet from a ladder while fixing a crane at P H F M Rootes Foundry. Henry Schrader, standing on a lathe, was knocked off as the ladder tilting caused all three men to crash to the ground. Leming suffered back sprain and leg bruises. Schrader was severely bruised but survived.

New Schedule Goes Into Effect on Big Four Trains

On Monday November 18 the Big Four timetable updates. Northbound trains No. 23 and No. 21 run Cincinnati to Connersville to Fort Wayne with detailed departure and arrival times. Southbound No. 22 and No. 26 run Munroe and Muncie to Connersville to Cincinnati. Through baggage coaches and buffet cars serve lunch. Connorsville gets a five minute stop.
