In a quiet campaign the Democrats secured the mayoralty as Finly Gray defeated Allen Wiles by 98 votes. Will Reeder was elected clerk and one councilman. Maynard Erb, a Republican, and William Meir, a Democrat, were tied in the third ward amid a light turnout.
Judge Gray imposes life imprisonment on Wilson after jury verdict. Wilson coolly accepts the result as attorneys prepare for post trial motions and potential appeals within about one hundred days. Wilken shows slight illness but remains in court vicinity as defense plans next steps.
Nelson B. Ross arrived at Indiana penitentiary to begin a life sentence for the murder of Daniel Linder an interurban conductor on August 5. He entered with two deputy sheriffs and a guard from Indianapolis, maintaining a steady step and appearing determined not to break down.
A man named Stephens in East Connersville allegedly shot his wife but reports say the event was factual only in rumor. Ben Stephens, a Lee Street resident, drank heavily and abused his wife, leading to a police response, a brief arrest, and a local trial where he was found guilty with fines totaling 49 dollars.
Leonidas Washington Jordan known as Lee Jordan a native of the county died at his Grand avenue home from acute laryngitis. He was a former city patrolman and a popular local figure with a large circle of friends and family. He leaves a wife Alice Williams and three children Oliver Jordan Miss Buisre Jordan and Mrs. Oda Garin. He also survived by two brothers Henry Jordan and Will Jordan. The funeral is set for Monday at ten o'clock at his home with Rev. H E B Wilson officiating.
The funeral for Leonidas Jordan was held yesterday forenoon at his late Grand Avenue home. A large attendance from out of town accompanied by ornate floral designs attended the service officiated by Rev. H. U. Wilson. Pallbearers included Hyatt Meeker, John Cates, Ki am Elwood, Harry Cain, W. W. Jomeon and Ed Lewis. the cortege then moved to Lick Creek Cemetery for interment.
A divorce was granted to Mrs. Charles F. Vance with custody awarded to the wife. The husband may visit the children on reasonable occasions. The decree caps child support at ten dollars per quarter, and the husband offers no opinion on ongoing support.
A city company formed by local businessmen aims to build two modern apartment houses on a central prominent avenue and a corner side street. The six and seven unit buildings will total about twenty thousand dollars, with an architect already engaged to design the residences for downtown tenants seeking convenient, well built homes.

Ben Moffett son of Mr and Mrs Charles Moffett sustained serious injuries when a horse and wagon ran away while husking corn a mile north of Harrisburg.
