An advertisement touts Hood's Medicine as the spring remedy for blood poison rheumatism catarrh and dyspepsia claiming unequaled strength and radical permanent cures. It warns readers to avoid substitutes and to protect their health by obtaining Hood's today.
Mrs L A Frazee hosted a cordial afternoon at The Pines for Miss Dollis Downard of Covington Kentucky. Guests enjoyed a pink white and green theme with progressive euchre prizes, a luncheon, and friendly chatter. Mrs Wrazen assisted. quilting party at Mrs Josephine Washam followed on Friday with refreshments.
Connersville Lodge No 879 seeks a three story building on Central Avenue with an eighteen to twenty foot Main entrance and an opera house behind two business rooms. The plan funds via bond issuance and seat auctions, to finance the Theodore Heinemann property purchase and a modern theatre, lodge hall, and club rooms for the community.
Telegraph reports the death of Rev George C Heckman of Reading Pennsylvania his uncle C C Ackerman received word last Thursday. A prominent Presbyterian minister He was called the Beecher of the West and had preached in the city years ago. He spent his final years in Reading where his congregation retired him on a generous pension. He died from age related infirmities.
The Art Educational Society in this city notes a net surplus of 28.70 from Fraulein Stolle's lecture after expenses. Pupils at each school building contributed 4 645 a penny each to the art fund, adding to a 1.08 balance from previous exhibits to make 30.15 for next year’s school decorations. The city and county newspapers and the public are thanked for their support.
Real estate transfers show Lewis Leflingwell and others to Mama Lethingwell for undivided interests in Harrison township. Minor Leflingwell guardian transfers to Emma Lethiopewell in Harrison township. Further transfers involve Posey township parcels and a 160 acre Orange township parcel from Joseph Gable to Benjamin F B Millar. Dinner gathering notes reference Mr and Mrs roots and other residents.
The General Gas Electric and Power Company moves its office to Fifth Street. Hon. F. T. Roots returns from Indianapolis and reports formation of the Farmers and Merchants Trust Co with capital of 50 000. Initial directors include Roots, Thieband, Beeson, Ansted and Rothschild. The bank will open April 1 in the old Citizens’ Bank building, now occupied by General Gas Electric and Power Office.
A telephone message reports the death of Joel Spangler at his Richmond Indiana home. The fifty year old former bridge foreman and current superintendent of bridges for the C E M Rail line died suddenly of heart trouble, leaving a wife and four children. He was a cousin of Mrs Jacob Ridge. Funeral arrangements are not yet set. Also Miss Queen Smith leaves the office today for a higher paying job in the local Coopersville Cash Grocery china and glass department.
