Frank Bass residence on West Second Street figures in a case of miscegenation. Both defendants received five hour sentences and were fined $5 plus costs. After release this afternoon Turner paid both fines amounting to $26.50.
Police arrested barber Al Turner and Mary Hand after finding them asleep in a bed at Frank Bass’s home on West Second Street. Turner and Hand pleaded guilty and each fined five dollars plus costs, with total payments of twenty six dollars and fifty cents. Hand, about 20, came from Harrison and had worked as a domestic for Turner's family. Turner has a wife and child in Springfield, Ohio.
Dan Caldwell of Harrieburg area mashed the index finger of his left hand while hauling logs last Monday. Medical care was delayed until Friday when Dr. Joe Mountain treated the injury. The finger may not be permanently damaged.
