The Wayse county Republicans plan a special primary on Saturday August 23 to nominate a candidate for prosecuting attorney. Candidates and campaign efforts spread across towns including Logansport Indianapolis Muncie Kokomo Columbia City and Wayne.
The issue promotes a hospital for the city with Dr McDougall’s view and urges Republican voters to rally for turnout in November to prevent an overwhelming election victory by apathy.
Senator Buyer says he will not attend outside Indiana events in September and October to focus on his state. He received a call from Congressman Overstreat of the Republican Congressional Committee requesting time for national assignments, but he remains wholly at the disposal of the Republican state committee.

William Irwin aged ninety one, a veteran blacksmith and the oldest resident of Fairview township, died Sunday at 5 o clock. He lived with his widowed daughter Mrs Elizabeth Alexander, and his brother 8 W Irwin of Greencastle are surviving children. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 o clock at his residence with Hitler Hopkine of the Christian church in charge. burial will follow in the city cemetery.
