A Texas family narrowly escaped fatal gas exposure when fumes from a base burner flooded their Orange home early this morning. Ralph Bowen woke by alarm, found his wife unconscious from gas, and told a physician who revived Mrs Bowen and two young daughters and their cousin. A coworker, David Bailey, also inhaled fumes but recovered quickly.
Everett Taylor of Virginia Avenue won a trophy for an essay on salesmanship and advertising aimed at expanding a major eastern paper mill’s advertising force. His entry topped thousands of manuscripts at the mill’s office. he has years of advertising writing experience and now crafts notices for Connersville merchants.
