Railway Trainmen Guilty of Conspiracy at Terre Haute Meeting
At Terre Haute Indiana June 30 the investigating committee found the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen guilty of conspiracy. The Switelmen Mutual Aid association had charged the trainmen with conspiring with Northwestern officials to recruit switchmen. The verdict was unanimous except for three trainmen who dissented. Expulsion votes split with two firemen Debs and Hanrahan siding with the three trainmen. Three votes from switchmen and the Brotherhood of Conductors supported expulsion. Grand Master Sargent did not vote.
