An old advertisement touts Hood's Sarsaparilla as purifying and enriching the blood, boosting appetite and strength. It cites Mrs. H. L. Me of Towanda Pennsylvania praising Hood's Pills and Sarsaparilla for rebuilding a run down husband’s health, claiming no disappointment.
Moon and sun rise and set times noted with sunrise at 4 20 and sunset at 7 35. Todiana and Witness report fair skies with warmer conditions tomorrow.
Henry F. Weber as administrator sues Mrs. Mary Hardin and her son Thomas for 5000 damages over the death of Adam Wellman. Wellman went to the Hardin farm on Christmas Eve to release an impounded hog. Mrs. Hardin fired twice, the second shot killing him. The defendants were previously tried for murder and acquitted.
Marton Indiana June 23 C M Coch rane of the city has invented a vehicle model he will not reveal but says it replaces street cars automobiles and steamships. He claims it requires no track and will cross a 3 foot ditch without jar and could navigate water at high speed using the same principle. He seeks capital interest in the project.
May 8 reports a four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Jence near Chesterfield Indiana fatally burned while playing by a gas fire yesterday.
Reports from Shanghai describe continued bombardment at Tientsin with four thousand allied defenders facing Chinese resistance and arrivals of British German and American forces. British and Russian dispatches discuss Pekin unrest while foreign ministers in Pekin appear safe and wariness over China policy grows.
Washington reports show M Cambon and Lord Pauncefote visiting the state department as Europe watches every development. France joins a common interest to protect foreigners in China while U S actions at Taku are viewed as prompt and impersonal. Chinese warships at Shanghai ease fears but doubt remains about the Chinese army and Boxers.
Cablegram reported Che Foo to Tientsin bombardment with Pekin in serious condition. Brown F appears safe by gunboat along with Hopkins and King. Dr Hopkins and Mr King serve at Tsun Sua and Pekin. About 37 Americans, including families, are under gunboat protection.
Berlin notes a French officer says Tientsin was bombarded for three days and the foreign detachment troops ran short of ammunition. The Irene brings 240 marines with 380 English and 1,500 Russians to aid, and the railway line from Taku reaches within 15 kilometers of Tientsin.

William Baker, once reported killed by a train near Mitchell, Indiana, is alive. His brother and sister went to Mitchell, exhumed a body, and Baker appeared to confirm his safety.
Washington reports that U S attorney in New York will move quickly to bring Neely the Cuban postal funds embezzler to Havana for trial. Judge Larcombe aims to decide before July 2. Two indictments exist one under article 401 of Spanish Cuban laws and another under Cuban postal code sections 33 to 57. Neely may appeal to the U S Supreme Court.

Iron prices weaken and pig iron quotes fall. structural material drops from seven to nine dollars per ton. Weekly U S failures total 167 versus 180 prior week and past years.
A fire in a major downtown Pittsburg block yesterday caused about 250000 dollars in damage across eight buildings housing many offices. Insurance will likely cover the loss. Fire started in the rear of Eichbaum company printing establishment, likely from spontaneous combustion. Captain Cabell, commanding OLN CAvery, left Jefferson Barracks for San Francisco to sail for Manila when transports are available.
