The article notes Sixth Street repairs near McFarlan Hotel begun today and hoped finished by Tuesday for the State Music Teachers Association meeting. The hotel will serve as headquarters and street work may inconvenience visitors.

Prof Sheedy and Ostheimer pursue recovered horses from Clifford theft. A Dayton message, dated June 15, invites Ostheimer to be at nine a m June 17 to reclaim two horses with Supt. Farrier supervising. Ostheimer and Sheedy left for Dayton at noon and may return with property tomorrow. John Clifford and Miss May Ford traveled to Spiceland for commencement.
Harry Webber of Indianapolis will visit tomorrow to contract attractions for the July 34th street fair and carnival. He is described as a responsible gentleman whose commitments will be honored, and local business leaders are urged to meet him promptly for a strong showing.
The Fayette County Protective Association organized June 12 1907 in Connersville Indiana lists L D Dillman as president and includes township vice presidents from Fairview Harrison Posey Waterloo Orange Jackson Jennings and Connersville. The by laws and constitution establish a twenty year term and rules for officers squads telegraphing rewards dues fines secrecy and member eligibility including a twenty one year age limit.
Uncle Henry Bowman died yesterday at his Water Street home. Born about 75 years ago in Virginia, he was raised in Nashville where his mother was sold as a slave. Freed by the Civil War, he later married in Nashville and again in Kentucky before moving to Connersville 16 years ago. He was known as a quiet, honest man and the funeral was held this afternoon at the Second M E Church with Rev. Riley officiating.
Will H. Strausser and Leota Frey were married at the bride’s grandmother's home on West Ninth Street at 4 p m in a family ceremony performed by Rev. Elfeld. The couple will start housekeeping in a cottage in Edgewood and received many fine presents.
L. M. Boland visits Connersville to survey the business center for a large scale map to be included in a supplement. The map will show half inch frontage per business, allow individuals to insert names or cards, list every street number and business, and prominently feature public buildings and blocks for a useful city reference.
A congregational meeting of church members was held last night. The old board was reelected for the ensuing year with Elders K. C. Wright E. Dwight Johnson and F. T. Roots and Trustees Dr. Joshua Chit wood Charles Mount D. T. Root A. H. Kieman Jake Leonard and J. H. Fearia.
An 1870s advertisement touts Hall's Catarrh Cure as the only cure for catarrh, a constitutional disease, taken internally to affect blood and mucous surfaces. It offers a $100 reward for any case it fails to cure and promotes testimonials, Toledo Ohio contact, and Hall's Family Pills as a supplement.
Alva Leedkte suffered partial amputation of the thumb and index finger on his left hand when a knife slipped while he cut dried beef this morning. The incident was not serious.
Brownsville reports excellent wheat prospects with local farmers optimistic. Dick Melott recovers from a horse kick while G W Ranckin shows improvement after a severe runaway injury. Mrs Ida Zellar stops by from Indianapolis visiting relatives. Mrs J O Showalter and daughter Raby shop in Liberty. Henry and bride begin housekeeping in Waterloo township. Vera Grimes from Anderson visits grandparents Mr and Mrs Charles Donthit.
