Horatius M. Talbot and Eve Harvey of near Clifton Union County Indiana married on Thursday September 13. Biographical sketch notes Talbot veteran of Mexican and Civil Wars and long time mail carrier. The Todianapolis business men arrived by special train and marched with the State Capital Military Band to the Elks' Mall for lunch and a fireworks display. Mrs Lon Stevens' funeral drew a large crowd and burial followed at Handly Cemetery. George Messersmith bought a new rubber-tired rig. Earle Perin travelled to Indianapolis last week.

Premiums offered include best ten ears white corn 40c second 25c best ten ears yellow corn 50c second 25c. Best peck Irish potatoes 50c. Best loaf yeast bread 50c second 5c. Best loaf salt rising bread 50c second 25c.
Four miles southwest of this city on Tuesday afternoon at J. W. Fink’s home a pole raising was held. Hon. F. T. Roots gave an address that impressed attendees with strong party revival and confidence in a November victory.
Oxford Ohio hosts an interstate sale and farm exposition starting Monday the 24th and closing Friday the 28th. Officials report secured cheap rail rates and optimistic progress across all departments of the enterprise.
Gov Roosevelt, candidate for Vice President, will tour Indiana by train starting October 10 from Chicago stopping in Hammond Lafayette Delphi Logansport Peru Wabash Huntington and Fort Wayne with noon and evening meetings. Day two visits include Fairmount Alexandria Anderson Muncie Winchester Richmond and Indianapolis. Day three reaches Plainfield Greencastle Brazil Terre Haute Vincennes Princeton Evansville before turning to Kentucky committee.
The Fayette Horticultural Society will meet at John T. Ed Manlove attended the State Fair. Mrs. Price of Indianapolis visits her brother P. J. Hoshour and family. Mrs. Bennett, recently declared insane, was moved to East Haven.
City taxes for 1899 in Connersville Indiana are due. If unpaid by the first Monday in November 1900, they become delinquent and accrue penalties per law. City Treasurer Thomas M. Little issues the notice on September 25, 1900.
