A westbound freight engine and a car plunged from the Robins on Street viaduct in Pittsburgh at 1 am. Four men on board were aboard. two were killed, one fatally injured, and the engineer escaped after leaping. Names listed include fireman Alk Miller and conductor I M Dewald.

Trof. F L Harvey of the University of Maine shot and killed himself in Orono after long mental strain from overwork. He was 61, a native of Tiief, Iowa, and former president of the Iowa Agricultural College, later linked with Humboldt College and Arcapsox Industrial College.
