Porto Rican Act Sets Duties and Free Imports
The Porto Rican act takes effect May 1 and mirrors U S tariff levels with 15 percent on most imports from the United States to Porto Rico. Sheriff Hall Dead After Long Illness At 72
County Sheriff Daniel D. Hall died at Daum Sanatorium Thursday morning after a protracted illness. He was born in 1828 in Gloucester County Virginia and moved to Fayette County in 1836. Hall served as Sheriff since 1898 and was renominated in the party primary. Coroner Dr A D Tyrrell assumed temporary charge of the office, and the Board of Commissioners appointed Edward K E Lewis to fill the unexpired term.
