Death of Chas Bundrant Near Town
Chas Bundrant died Saturday morning at about six o'clock at his home west of town. Born in Virginia in 1822, he was orphaned early and raised in the tanning trade with William Brown, whose partner he became. He owned the nearby farm and leaves a widow, Jane Branson, and one son. A respected Christian and citizen, his funeral was held Monday at Lick Creek Church.

County S. S. Convention at First Methodist Church Fayetteville
The Fayette Co S S Association held its annual convention March 20 at 10 o'clock in Fayette City. Despite bad weather, a strong attendance showed enthusiasm. President E W Hawkins opened proceedings with devotions led by N W Wright and prayer by Rev Mount. Rev L F Dimimnitz gave the welcome, answered by H T Thomas. Committees were named for restorations, nominations, and resolutions. The afternoon featured reports by E V Hawking, Ode R Barclay, and others, with officers elected for the coming year. Resolutions praised C D Meigs's resignation as State S S Secretary and commended Ode R Barclay's Sunday School work and the county president E V Mankina and secretary W E Ochiltree for their efforts. The convention adjourned for a 7:30 session with remarks by Meigs and Gebaur, then a closing address on Sunday School work.
