Condon prepares for the Tri County fair October 1 2 3 with improved grounds stock barn grandstand and new concession booths. Highlights include horse racing bucking and roping contests trick riding by the Scale Bros and a bucking steer show. The Better Babies Contest features a competitive exam for children four years and under with prizes and score cards tracking yearly development.
The Gilliam county fair board recommended and the county court approved turning a state appropriation of 630 over to the Tri-county fair treasurer to be used in payment of premiums.

The Sisters of St. Dominic will return to Condon next week to continue their work in the hospital and academy.

Miss Neema Weimar daughter of Mr and Mrs John Weimar of Clem wed Edward Norris in Tacoma on September 10. The bride is well known in the county and lived at Gwendolen last year where she worked in the store and post office. Sheriff Montague jailed a young man who gave the name Howard Cassady on a charge of placing an obstruction on the Heppner railroad track. He is held over to the grand jury.
The county court ordered a warrant for 612.80 to settle the Hartshorn versus Gilliam County judgment. Deeds recorded include four Lone Rock parcels for 1000, four Lone Rock parcels for 400, Arlington lots for 800, 160 acres to Taylor for 900, 160 acres to Chambers for 2000, Condon lots for 500, and several US patents for Lyons Smith and Smith. Edward Magee returned to his Portland home Thursday after visiting his son John Magee. Frank Smith and Chas Baker also headed to Portland Thursday. Kent Zachary of Fossil traveled to Portland and plans to bring back his daughter who had been in a hospital.
The aged mother of Mrs. J. F. Thomas arrived from Hood River to visit at the Thomas home. A dance at the Grange hall is planned for Saturday with a big supper at 11 30. Residents anticipate a Tri County fair and Mrs. Francis of Albany is a guest at the Thomas home. Other news crowded out.
