The Condon Public School No. 25 ends the term with most rooms closed after May 17. Mrs. Berry and G. T. McArthur miss days to make up. Attendance and grades receive praise. Bert Knox holds three years without absence or tardiness. Eight of ten eighth graders passed the state exam with honors. one failed arithmetic and one was kept from finishing. Drowned in the John Day River at Spray
Jas Paul a prosperous rancher of Spray was drowned while fording the John Day above the dam backwater on Monday May 27. His body was not recovered due to quicksands. He was 82, survived by a wife, and brother to Mrs. R R Keys of Fossil.
