Annual meeting of the Investment Society of Oregon
The first annual meeting of the Investment Society of Oregon was held in Mayville with President Edwards presiding. The charter was amended to authorize rights of way and railway operations, plus utilities and telegraph services. Directors were elected including Edwards and Dyer, and officers named Evans as general manager. A plan to publish notices and assemble data for Gil lam and Wheeler counties was approved.

City Council Advances Ordinance On Water Works Fund
The city council with Mayor Wood and members Williams Burns Portwood Campbell and Hire passed the second reading by title only and then third reading for Ordinance No 67 leading to final passage. A water works fund ordinance was debated and set for second reading. Council later accepted A B Jackson’s resignation as treasurer and nominated H A Hartshorn to fill the vacancy with a report date fixed for a meeting with Electric Co officials.

Teale plans prizes for county farming contest
