Knight pitched for Heppner, while Welshons held the locals to two hits as poor support cost Condon’s squad the game. Umpire Fred Elder officiated. a return match is planned at the Athletic Club.

Local residents return home and new gasoline engines arrive
J. H. Stout, who had been working near Spray, returned to his home at Little Dee, Tennessee on Tuesday morning. W. B. Myers came back from Portland on Wednesday. Jamieson & Marshall just received a carload of Alamo gasoline engines, all 20 and 25 horsepower, noted as especially suited for local use.

Wheat City Parade Opens Grand July Celebration
July preparations in Wheat City include a street parade led by the Wheat City Corner Band starting at 10 o clock tomorrow morning. Prizes of 10 dollars for best float and 5 dollars for best lady horse bark rider draw entrants from most shops. The parade travels Oregon Street to Dunlap's shop, down Main, and back, with strict no-firecracker rules. Pine Ridge and Olex play in the afternoon followed by street amusements and a nine o clock free dance after supper. Sunday features the Condon team in afternoon events.

Local Holiday Celebrations and Evening Dance Planned
The day will start with a band concert and a parade then exercises in the rink. At 2 PM the winners of the two games will contest for the purse. A bronco busting contest may be held on ball grounds Monday afternoon with further street amusements at 4 30. A second band concert at 7 PM precedes a free dance at 9 PM. The gymnasium and Odd Fellows building will be opened as restrooms to accommodate the crowd.
