Snow kept many from the courthouse gathering but a spirited booster meeting of Gillian County supporters endorsed a tax levy up to 10000 for purchase of land for an experimental farm. Letters offered land at ten to twenty seven dollars per acre with options to secure suitable sites along the Barnett to Gwendolen railroad.

City Council Approves Sale of City Ranch Lands
Regular monthly council session notes careful decisions with most business completed. Ordinance 45 authorizes sale of 214.28 acres of city ranch. bids to be opened at the council rooms. December bills total 286.35 dollars. Crane & Co. bids for water mains to north Main Street about 6150 feet with steel Sinch lapwell joints and alkali proof coating. A follow up meeting was held Tuesday but lacked a quorum. Contract likely next Monday with mains costing about five thousand dollars, delivery expected in February and installation planned for early spring.
