Woolcar Demonstration Arrives to Benefit Woolgrowers

The Demonstration Wool Car will arrive in London Sunday evening and stay all day Monday for the woolgrowers. It will display fleeces, a textile exhibit, American market grades under a magnifying glass, and samples from Australian and New Zealand wool.

High School Open Debates Planned After Scarlet Fever Pause

School reopened after a brief scare with scarlet fever with no reported cases at the high school. A Friday program for Sophomores features a debate on interscholastic content versus athletics with Kinlay Carnine Hardie Austin Farr Campbell on the affirmative and Austin Farr Campbell on the negative. Dr Wilhelm reports the birth of a son to Mr and Mrs Ben Stevens Buckhorn.

Local farmer sells blooded stock in Gilliam county sales

Since last June 7 L A Hoskin sold fifteen purebred Poland China stock to Gilliam county farmers. The list includes J A Simmons Condon W E Smith Trail Fork J W Hire Condon C W Plummer Olex Emmett Cooney George Whyte A H Porter Mayville G W Stevenson. Hoskin credits the Condon Globe and notes stock from eastern lines including a registered Big Type Poland China from Pfander & Sons Iowa. He plans no more stock for sale and adds more poultry arrivals from Hampton Town including Mammoth Bronze turkeys Rhode Island Reds and guineas. Farmers Meet To Plan Elevator Expansion In Mayville

A Farmers Elevator Company meeting is set for Friday afternoon in Mayville to levy an assessment on issued stock to fund enlarging the elevator to 150000 bushels. No more stock will be issued. The farmers back the project, noting current capacity is too small. Mr and Mrs Clarence Jones return from a trip to Walla Walla and Portland where they bought a Taylor tractor and separator and a six bottom plow for use on their Mayville farms.

James Murtha, a prominent eastern Oregon sheepman, will travel in a Hudson Super Six he bought yesterday from L. E. Shelley. Al Collins renewed his Globe subscription on Saturday.

Woolgrowers to be Entertained in Condon Meeting

Condon businessmen plan to entertain visiting woolgrowers next Monday for the sheep and wool demonstration. An entertainment committee of O B Roberto George Dukek and A B Robertson was formed and a lunch at one o’clock at the Hotel was arranged. The Commercial Club also set September 27 28 and 29 as ey Bounty’s fair dates and recommended Jas Stewart Fossil as highway commissioner, sending the proposal to Governor Withycombe.
