Overcome by Tunnel on the Great Northern Eastbound Overland

In Everett a Great Northern eastbound overland train No. 4 became stuck in the Cascade tunnel late last night causing multiple breakaways. Ten passengers in sleepers and five crew members were seriously affected. The train backed out to Wellington. crew and passengers endured a long tunnel delay with several unconscious officials amid reports of injuries.

Cuban Flag Over Madrid Hotel Downed by Spanish Order

Havana reports a cablegram stating the Cuban flag over the Hotel de la Paz in Madrid was removed by Spanish authorities. A Senate inquiry was ordered to verify the event.
