Service News Of The Week Sees Apple Market Trends
The report notes a later date for McIntosh harvest around September 25th or later, with a light crop but orderly marketing. McIntosh will appear on the market steadily as growers and the trade expect consistent distribution and minimal speculation. Apples are stored quickly after picking, with many farm storages and large dealers keeping space available. Controlled atmosphere storage is proving satisfactory and space remains limited but usable.
