H Hall along with Eugene Ruth Samuel R Burroughs and Edgar H Hall attended the annual reunion of the 53rd Mass Regimental Association at the Quincy House Boston on Sept 19 marking the 53rd anniversary of the Winchester battle. Mr Hall was reelected president for the coming year and the group reported five deaths including Albert R B Brown. A bountiful dinner followed speeches and social time with plans to meet in 1918.
Wilbur Steele of Boxboro escaped serious harm after a gasoline tank leak caused his truck to catch fire near the Arlington fire station on Wednesday night September 19. A lantern lit the area as firefighters arrived, saving Steele from greater injury, and the truck was saved from burning. He was brought home and is expected to recover soon.
