Bride of Ralph Paone Is Married In Boston Catholic Mass

Miss Louisa Venti, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Savarro Venti, married Ralph Paone son of Mr and Mrs Cosmo Paone. The ceremony at St Bernard s church featured Rev Phillip Guarino. Attendants included Mrs George Albert Cunningham and Miss Elisa A Venti. Best man was Charles Paone. ushers included Frank Paone and Enrico Venti. The bride wore a white moire gown with a long tulle veil and carried a white prayer book. A reception followed at the Bowser home and the couple will reside at 10 Jamatega Way Jamaica Plain after a short wedding trip.

Concord Massachusetts 182nd Infantry recruits to World’s Fair trip

Company H of the Massachusetts 182nd Infantry met at the Armory welcoming many new recruits. The meeting focused on the World’s Fair trip planned for October 11 to 16 with more recruits expected to join beforehand for eligibility and a worthwhile adventure.

Concord Youths Resume Studies At Colleges

Concord youths begin college studies this week with Arthur Anderson now center for Northeastern University football. Rab Windheim heads to Notre Dame in South Bend to join the Irish squad. Robert Mara enters Dartmouth as a freshman and leaves Sunday. Everett Tompkins will enter the junior class at Duke as a star pitcher. Roger Boyd will join Bowdoin College as a junior, expected to play in all football games.

Middlesex Football Candidates to Open Practice Next Week

Concord's Middlesex School will host football candidacy calls by coach Robert Foster next week before classes resume on September 26. The six game fall schedule opens September 30 at home against Boston Trade, with games through November 8 against St Georges of Newport, Rhode Island. The Concuct Antiquarian Society tea of September 12 was postponed to October to mark the new addition to the 17th century house.

Concord Couple Wed in Evangelical Free Church Ceremony

Miss Margaret Hansen and Le Larsen married at the Free Church on Lang Street with Rev. Otto Ratfos officiating. Bridesmaids include Lillian Hansen Edith Largen and Marjorie Imombo. best man Eugene Swansen. The couple plans to reside in Acton after a brief wedding trip. Hansen is Concord native. Service for Edward Graf at St. Anne's

Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Anne's church for Edward Graf who died Sunday at Waltham Hospital in his 74th year. Born in Newport Kentucky to Ferdinand Graf and Victoria Blut, he lived in Lincoln over 40 years as a gardener. Survivors include his widow Mary MacLeod a son Malcolm two daughters Louise and Emma Huntley all of Lincoln. Burial was in Lincoln cemetery.

Garage collapse injures Bedford man at home

Concord reports Charles Nicholson aged 76 of Kim Street Bedford was trapped when a wooden garage side collapsed during repairs. Neighbor Frank Dodd and several boys freed him. Dr. C Rogers Lord rushed him to Emerson Hospital in serious condition with a possible fractured hip. He lives alone with relatives in Maine.

The Emerson hospital reports August figures with 66 surgical cases and 20 obstetrical cases. Out patients treated total 9 500. accidents 25 and other patients 14. In hospital counts show 39 on Aug 31 and 25 August 1 as the highest daily totals. A food sale by West Concord Parents Association is planned for September 16, 1939 at 2 pm at Adar’s Store in West Concord.
