Barker 87 a former Deaconess Home resident died last Saturday at New England Deaconess Hospital Brookline Mass Day committal services were held in Fort Plain New York with Rev Dr William R Leslie of St Marks Brookline officiating She was born Cramecie Township Ontario and lived six years at the local Deaconess Home She previously served as a Deaconess at a Methodist Church and as chaplain at the hospital She leaves a brother John and a niece Lucille both of Fort Plain.

Women’s Club Sets Friday Meeting on Referendum

The Acton Women’s Club invites all residents to a Friday open meeting at the clubhouse at 4:00 p.m. to discuss upcoming referendum questions on the ballot. Reports will cover candidates from both parties and aim to help women vote with understanding. Police chief Michael Foley filed the complaint against Edward P. Callahan in Concord district court last Tuesday alleging assault with intent to commit a criminal act. Callahan is held on $1000 bail until November 1.
