A catered turkey supper will be served and reservations can be made by calling Concord 1130 R or via supper committee members John F Donovan Harold C Carlson John J Sheehan Charles M Byron Thomas F Meehen Arthur W Parke and Past Commanders Russell F Parsons Sr and Arthur Wood. All legionaries and their guests are invited.
Concord marks Girl Scout Week with a church service. The movement encourages cooperation, friendship, and community responsibility through older-mentoring programs. Scouts are urged to wear uniforms at church this Sunday and sit together at Catholic services where arranged.
Mr and Mrs Joseph P Fitzpatrick of 403 Main Street West Concord welcomed twin sons born on Tuesday October 13 at Emerson Hospital The boys are named Michael and Mark Mrs Fitzpatrick formerly Doris Geneva The twins grandparents are Mr and Mrs Nicholas J Geneva of West Boylston and Mrs William L Fitzpatrick of West Concord
Concord Enterprise announces a Hall of Fame sports night on November 6 at the Wells A Hall Auditorium. A door prize offers two tickets to the B C versus H C football game. About 70 former athletes will be honored, with full program details expected next week. The event starts at 7 45 o clock.
Concord learns of a $33.50 gift from 13th Air Force volunteers in Korea. The fund is to be shared among 47 Massachusetts chests using a state quota plan, with Concord’s fair share set at 13 cents. The gesture aims to inspire local giving to the Community Chest campaign.
Mrs Charles Loring will give four book reviews on Tuesday October 7 at 10 15 o clock in the vestry of the First Parish Church. Proceeds benefit the Women’s Parish Association scholarship fund for foreign students. All are welcome and tickets may be obtained at the door.

The parish notes the 50th anniversary of the cornerstone laying for Our Lady Help of Christians Church in West Concord, with plans for the parish’s 1958 anniversary. In 1902 Catholics from West Concord traveled to St Bernard’s in Concord for Mass and Rev Mortimer Toomey initiated a church in West Concord and another in Lincoln, with the cornerstone laid October 18, 1903.
West Concord residents Mr and Mrs George P Hagerty of 9 Pine Street marked their golden wedding by attending mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Mrs Hagerty, formerly Alice Carney, and Mr Hagerty a retired Massachusetts Reformatory officer, celebrated with family at Howard Johnsons indicating a long residence in the town and two sons and three grandchildren.

Concord Teachers Institute and Workshop at Concord High School Thursday and Friday October 29 and 30 opens with Dr. Saltonstall the keynote on The Gifted Child. Dr Harold B. Gores Newton superintendent closes Friday at 3 p m with remarks.
A Concord Rainbow Assembly meeting is scheduled for 7:30 PM this Saturday at the Masonic temple. Seven members will be initiated with Miss Virginia Woodruff directing the work as newly installed worthy advisor.
On October 14 Concord high school held junior class elections. Officers elected were President Richard Whalen, vice president Shirley Beharrell, secretary Kathleen Doyle, treasurer Wilfred Dyment, Boys A A Robert Davidson, Girls A A Beverly Englehardt. Student Council members include Richard Dunbrack, John Foster, Jean Fallon, and Eleanor Loomer.
The Concord League of Women Voters reports ten new members including Mrs. William H. Damon and Mrs. John C. Hill of Lowell road and Mrs. Lloyd P. Williams on Fielding street, among others in the area.
At a monthly Legion post meeting a vote authorized action to handle abandoned iceboxes in Concord. A committee led by William M. Nickerson, Frank J. McLaughlin, and David B. Williams will survey the area and report back at the next meeting. Citizens may contact the post at 1130-R to have iceboxes removed or disposed of.
The Sunday observance marks the 95 theses nailed to the cathedral door in Germany and the Protestant movement. Rev. Herbert will deliver The Heart of Protestant ism at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord on October 25. Parish members will attend. The note recalls the first American cotton mill in James Glagid, S C, 1789.
