Maynard Delegates Endorse Charles H. Persons

Maynard delegates met on Monday evening and voted to support Charles H. Persons as their candidate for the representative convention at Acton next Saturday. Persons, son of a farmer, arrived in town 15 years ago and has since become a prominent businessman. he has been town clerk for seven years and served on the school board for four, aiding Maynard schools. The delegates praise his public service and business reputation.

Everett Burnham Arrested In Slab City Theft Case

Everett Burnham of Slab City was arrested on suspicion of stealing twelve ride tickets from South Acton station in September. A Fitchburg detective and Officer Ferns tracked him to near the Concord reformatory where Burnham allegedly attacked Ferns and was handcuffed after a struggle.

Social and musical evening at Assabet council meeting

Regent W. A. Look of Leominster visited Assabet council R.A. Monday night for an official social gathering. John Veitch played cornet solos, Robert Carter accompanied on piano, and James F. Sweeney sang and spoke. The undersigned thanked friends, neighbors, the pastor, and singers for flowers and help after a bereavement, dated Maynard October 7, 1895. A Greenhalge and Wolcott flag was displayed Wednesday morning. Druggists advertise King’s New Discovery for coughs, with trials offered at local stores.
