Somerville Property Investigation Yields No New Facts
An adjourned Somerville town meeting heard a report from a committee on town property. The panel, B. J. Coughlin, O. S. Fowler and Thomas Hillis, urged improving the property with about $600, while officials differ on the exact amount. A motion to spend up to $600 and leave oversight to the water commissioners failed as funds are unavailable. A special meeting may be needed to authorize spending. Coughlin proposed a plan to earn about 3.5 percent on a $12,000 investment, but no action was taken and returns remain uncertain.
