Union Leader Golden Addresses Maynard Strike at Colonial Hall
John Golden president of the United Textile Workers spoke at a mass meeting in Maynard about the Assabet strike. He praised union laws, warned against violence, and signaled a possible wage increase while promising broad solidarity with allied unions if the American Woolen Co. does not concede. He planned a Boston meeting with company officials to seek a settlement as outside propaganda swirls in the town.
