World War Veteran Maynard Stades Dies at Home
Maynard J Stades a World War veteran aged 74 died at his home at 4 Wali Court about midnight on Armistice Day. He was gassed in the war and lived as a semi invalid since returning. In Concord on Thursday afternoon two tar barrels overheated and exploded after catching fire. James Feehal of the Road Department was heating tar when the blaze began. fire crews quickly extinguished the flames with sand and water and no injuries or buildings were harmed.

Mrs Washington B Thom Hoar of Concord and John Hoar of Boston are named as grandchildren. Born in 1869 to Ann Putnant and Bainbridge Leigh, she married in 1886. Her husband, a Massachusetts lawyer and general counsel for the Boston and Albany Railroad, died in 1904. She died November 9 at her Marlborough Street home. Burial followed at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

The Laymen's Missionary Movement celebrated its 25th founding anniversary with special Sunday services at a local church. Delegations from Keeke of Stow Att m West Concord and Sudbury attended. Rev.
