First Parish Play a Major Local Success

The First Parish Church Woman's Parish Association presented a mystery play The Night of January 16th in the church vestry on Wednesday night. Miss Helen Root directed and played Karen Andre the defendant in a murder trial replacing Mrs Siebarth who was ill. A jury from the audience decided guilt. Tickets were 30 cents.

Armistice Eve Tragedy Hits Twin Accidents

Two accidents on Armistice Eve caused one death and injuries. Roy Palmer of Ayer drove a car eastbound at Concord Turnpike and Haven Road, striking a MG driven by a local man, sending the vehicle to the opposite curb. Palmer said headlights from another gate blinded him. Police, including Officers Foster and Thomas, investigated. Foster later was struck by a truck and hospitalized. The truck driver stated he did not see Foster until close, then swerved to avoid him.
