Miss Marion Williams visits Springfield friends. Ladies Union holds a special meeting with Mrs. Durkee. Wagner Concert Co opens Union church course Friday night November 14. Various visits, sermons, and society reports follow, including confirmations at the reformatory and Harvest concert successes at Union church.
Concord reports the Dramatic club sets December 4 as opening night for its first play. The Ladies' Charitable Society greeted Mias Lacy Fosdick on Wednesday. Mrs. Thomas Todd and Miss Gertrude Todd returned from Washington. The group showcased the Comforts of Home, with the club in charge and low prices promised by local firm L. N. Fowler & Co. Coast Junction Mass will extend delivery to Tuesday and Thursday with a full line of groceries, boots, shoes, rubbers, furniture, carpets and bedding. Rufus A. Macurda will supervise the department.
A large gathering attended an at home in Acton Street last night honoring Mr and Mrs Frank E Sanderson. Guests were greeted by Bert Huck and George Burgess and served in the reception and serving rooms with Miss Grace Maynard and others assisting. Grace Maynard sang several solos to warm reception.
The Sheldon-Barrael Co presents a high class show with magic seances hypnotism and scientific experiments. Featured talents include John Ers James J. Gaffney Miss Kittie Hart A C Dodge F P De and other entertainers promising two hours of fun. Admission 25c reserved 35c under 12 15c.
About 100 spectators watched Concord farmers defeat Wayland 6 to 0 on a Saturday at the playground. Wayland arrived late with six players and borrowed five, while Concord scored in the first minutes and added another tallied by Dee. Rexford stood out for Wayland. Concord received praise for the victory after 40 minutes of play.
A Saturday afternoon golf links competition restricted players to using the putter on the green. The event counted as a one club handicap stroke format and produced a final score listing for the field. Local players competed under this unusual rule.
