Criterion Club Opens 80th Lyceum Season with An American Citizen
Concord’s Criterion Club in Monument hall drew a full house for the eighth consecutive appearance as the Concord Dramatic Club presented An American Citizen. The four act comedy by Madeline Lucette Ryley follows a young American who must renounce citizenship and marry an English heiress to claim a legacy, with mistaken identities and a London finale. Beresford Cruger, portrayed by Walter H. Dugan, leads a strong cast with Miss Ethel Bourne as Beatrice Carew and Charles G. Smith as Peter Barbury, in a lively, well staged production directed by Dugan with expert support from a full technical team.
