Concord sewing group sends six bales to war relief
In October Concord held four sewing meetings with 24 attendees on average. Six bales were sent to France and other destinations including hospitals in Chalons sur Marne Compiegne Port Arthur Mousson and to refugees. A sixth bale went to the American Women’s War Hospital at Paignton. The group shipped 817 articles totaling 120 dollars in gifts and spent funds on materials and drugs. Winter needs prompt further contributions of worn clothing and money. Meetings move to the courthouse first floor every Wednesday at 10 with a box lunch at noon.
