Concord police probe multiple acts of vandalism during Halloween night as two homes were damaged including John Pietrowicz's on Water Street where windows and items were broken and clothes lines cut. Thoreau Building Floods After Boiler Feed Failure
A power failure led to a flood at Thoreau elementary school on Pleasant Street during the night of October 31, flooding the boiler room and disrupting heat. Repairs were completed and classes resumed, with construction on a new wing continuing and six remaining rooms expected to be ready in a couple of weeks.

Alcott School Opens With Twenty Three Classrooms
Beginning today 11 new classrooms at Alcott Elementary School will be occupied bringing total rooms to 23 to serve about 600 pupils.
