Henry D a recently purchased a new automobile. Rain delayed the high school game set for Saturday. Harold 1 of Ponsawooth Cornwall arrived Friday May 14 aboard the Lusitania from New York and reached Bedford the same day. Mr Hattem, an expert florist and gardener, is staying with Bedford friends and has received several offers for his services since arriving in this country.
Betty Howe ill with scarlet fever. Stephen Pepper released from quarantine. Mrs Hollis Blake and son travel to White Plains for summer. Shaw family moves to Garfield road. Lowell Road Garage connected to telephone 246 2. Philathea class plans a June 9 play. Annie Blaisdell and Hurlburt to Hancock NH for summer. Supt Wells A Hall inspects Batavia system in Westerly RI. Elizabeth Roberts holds an exhibition on Estabrook road. June 17 class day and June 23 graduation for class of 1910. Richard Wood joins sports committee for NE Fat Men's celebration. Brown visit Brunswick ME. Gladys Walsh recovered from scarlet fever. quarantine removed. Mrs H Rolfe speaks at WCTU in Northboro and Mothers meeting in Fall River. Mary Thomas occupies new house on Fairhaven road. Dr Edward W Emerson gives an address at Congregational church in South Attle See ee Thoreau.
The Bedford Civic club met in town hall on May 18 with Louis Pfeiffer presiding. Sylvester P. Robertson of Lexington spoke on The State, the Towns and the Forest Trees, noting his prominence as a candidate for associate judge of the Concord court and his long involvement in Sunday school work and law practice.
The May meeting of the Parent-Teacher association on the afternoon of the 19th drew the season’s largest crowd. Mrs. W. H. Simonaus reported on the Worcester conference, music by Mrs. Walter Temple and Mrs. John Blake complemented the program, and social refreshments followed. The next meeting is scheduled for September 15.

Putnam directs and tickets go on sale at local shops with large sales.
Work on the new N Y N H and Hy railroad bridge continues. Winslow Damon and Roger Allen attend Loyal Temperance Legion meeting in Ayer on Saturday. A large town turnout awaits the junior class dance at the high school Saturday evening. Strathmore Woolen mill plans shorter hours as business remains flat. Monday May 30 features a moving picture entertainment connected with the A K R novelty. Another school meeting will push for a commercial course with a petition over 600 names backing the plan.
