Concord Misa Barbara Chandler to Wed Thomas Motley

Concord-Misa Barbara Chandler daughter of Mr and Mrs John Chandler of Sterling Junction will marry Thomas Motley son of Mr and Mrs Edward Motley of Concord on Saturday June. The ceremony at four o clock in the Church of Christ Lancaster will be conducted by Rev Dr Banallcott Peabody and assisted by Rev Frederick Eid. A reception will follow at the bride’s parents home. Mian Ethel Husband of Chicago will be maid of honor and bridesmaids include Barbara Bigelow Sally Ann Drury Patricia Farley Alice Hutchins Ruth Iven Roberta Lang Joan Motley. Edwardine Motley Jr will be best man with a large list of groomsmen from Concord Boston and Brookline. After the wedding trip the couple will spend the summer in Concord.

Engagement announced for Caroline Hoar in South Milwaukee

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Sherman Hoar of South Milwaukee announce the engagement of their daughter Caroline Prea Hoar. Mrs Noble Died In Her 92nd Year

Mrs Charlotte A Noble died on Tuesday May 16 at 1 Court Lane in her 92nd year widow of George A Noble a Bedford farmer. Born Tinmouth Vermont January 14 1848 she taught in Vermont and lived in Concord about 30 years. Surviving daughter Miss Maude L Noble funeral at home and burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Mary Flavin hosts a card party for the American Legion Auxiliary on Lexington Road May 28. The Middlesex County Council Auxiliary meets May 27 at the Elks Home Waltham with caucus at noon luncheon at 1.15 and regular session at 2.15. On May 28 the Unit meets at West Concord station at 10.18. A regular meeting occurs June 19 at 8.00 at the Veterans Building. Alice Hagerty and Mary Plavin visited Beate Veterans Hospital. Dinner Held For William H. Eckert at Colonial Inn

A Saturday dinner at the Colonial Inn honored William H. Eckert of Watertown retired president of Sachem Council Roy Scouts of America. Thirty executive-board members served under him in 1907 and 1938. George M. Dimond of Bedford chaired the dinner committee and George B C Rugg of Arlington was toastmaster. A lean-to Adirondack camp plaque will be erected at Camp Sachem in Antrim New Hampshire.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock noon for Mrs. Pickwick Atw, of Pine Street West Concord. Rev Kenneth R Teed officiated with burial at Sleepy Hollow cemetery. She died Monday from pneumonia after several days illness. She was born in Franklin NH daughter of Rev and Mrs D B Jenks. Survived by husband Jed Pickwick Jr mother father two daughters Barbara Anne Phyllis Jane a son Alfred B Jenks sister Mrs Harold C Beebo.

Concord Rummage Sale Raises Near 900 For Hospital Aid

The annual Rummage Sale at the State Armory benefited the Emer son Hospital Aid Society and netted nearly 900 dollars. Chairmen and committees under Mrs. George Walker directed efforts while many contributors supplied high quality rummage, boosting the sale’s wide reputation.

Funds sought to buy Old Manse in Concord

The Trustees of Public Reservations are raising $9600 to purchase the Old Manse of Concord, famed as the home of Emersons Mosses from an Old Manse and a site near the Concord battlefield. The house, saved from fire and hurricane damage, would become a public site with strong literary and historical associations for Mrs John W Amen of Cambridge, a cousin to Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Finnish born Maynard resident dies aged 66

Mrs Natetheca Lyte Maynard died at her Maynard home after a long illness. She leaves three daughters Mrs Joseph Tourville Mrs Harry Dimery of Maynard and Mrs Waine Lawson of Worcester and a son Dwight Jacobson of Norway Maine. A sister Mrs Joan Anderson of Acton Center also survives. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at home, Rev George Koponen officiating. Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery. An abundance of flowers testified to neighbors and friends’ affection.
