Vermont Man Named Concord Town Manager

Theodore Nelson of Northfield Vermont has been unanimously chosen as Concord town manager after 35 applicants. He will assume duties July 9 at age 28, bringing a background from Old Orchard Beach Dover Bethelmont and Northfield. Nelson and his wife plan to settle in Concord and meet town boards and committees soon.

Surprise 25th Wes Anniversary for Andersen Couple

West Concord Mr and Mrs Krist Andersen of 385 Main Street marked their 25th wedding anniversary with a surprise visit from about 60 friends and relatives from New York Wellesley Acton and Concord. A testimonial followed with flowers and gifts. Krist recalled a past surprise during his town selectman tenure. Also noted are Greater Lowell cadets at Lowell Technological Institute and the Air Force ROTC with 295 cadets currently in the corps.

Memorial Sunday and Memorial Day ceremonies planned in Concord

Concord announces Memorial Sunday services at Trinitarian Church on Walden Street led by Rev. Robert H. Barber at 11 a.m. May 27 with military, veteran, and scout groups forming for the parade. Jeffrey Derby seven months old twin son of Mr and Mrs Richard A Derby of 5 Bedford Street died suddenly Wednesday noon. Police and firemen arrived quickly after the mother alerted a neighbor. Dr Howard E Robinson medical examiner pronounced death after a half hour. Last rites were given at St Bernard's Church. The body was taken to Dee Funeral Home. He leaves a twin brother James and sisters Linda Roberta and others.

Advance for Concord Youth in Lowell Naval Reserve

Thomas J. Mc Breen age 19 of Longstreet has been advanced from seaman recruit to seaman apprentice in the Lowell Naval Reserve after passing an examination run by the First Naval District. Lieut Rupert N. Lord, officer in charge, announced the promotion from Naval Reserve Surface Division 1-19 at the Bedford Avenue Training Center. McBreen joined the Lowell unit in June 1955.
