Concord Building Dept Reports April Permits Jump
The Concord Building Department records April permits totaling 981,945 dollars with 40 permits issued and 9 new homes. Of the amount, 945,300 dollars is for new construction, a sharp rise from April 1961. The largest permit is 700,000 dollars for the office and research building of Concord Industrial Development Trust on Virginia Road. Lions Club Delivers Safety Film and Reports Clinic Success
Concord Lions Club, led by President George W. Wilkinson, presented Police Chief James E. Finan Jr. with a bicycle safety film purchased by the club. The Emerson Hospital glaucoma clinic drew strong turnout with 33 failing vision tests without glasses and seven others passing with glasses. four from Concord failed. Club members thanked Dr. March, Dr. D Ambrosio, Mrs. Johansen, Mrs. Corrigan, and Miss Murphy for their work and noted publicity from the Enterprise. Next events include the state convention May 18–20 at Swampscott and a field day on May 26.

Dick is a senior near graduation and Dave, a junior lefty, hope to have eligibility extended to finish the season.
