Bishop Nash officiates at confirmation in Concord

On Sunday April 27 Rt Rev Norman B Nash Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts attended Trinity Church. West Concord P T A schedules a meeting Thursday May 8 at 8 pm in the Harvey Wheeler school auditorium. President Mrs Earl Wheeler will preside for the annual officer election. League of Women Plan Conference in Springfield

The Massachusetts League of Women Voters will hold its two year conference in Springfield on Tuesday May 6. Each local league may send two representatives with Concord sending Mrs Harold Smith and Mrs W Seymour Archibald Jr and the Massachusetts State League being represented by Mrs Roger C Fenn.

The Concord campaign against cancer passes the $3000 mark but remains short of the $4000 target as officials push final reports and last minute gifts. Funeral for Mrs Geisler at Concord Home

Mrs Geisler 78 died Sudbury road last Saturday and funeral services were held at the Concord Funeral Home. She was born October 19 1873 in Lawrence widow of Fred G Geisler who died in 1936. She moved to Concord five years ago to live with her son G Frederick Geisler. Surviving are another son Charles E Geisler of Silver Spring Maryland five grandchildren two brothers George and Edwin and one sister Mrs Louise Frank of Lawrence.

Ten French Pupils From Lachine Visit Concord

Ten French pupils from Lachine Canada will spend a week in Concord as part of a student exchange with Concord's French class. An assembly at Wells A. Hall Memorial Auditorium featured speakers J A Strong Canadian consul general and Cheries Gregg of the Canadian Club of Boston. Tours dances and other activities were planned for the visitors with a Lions Club breakfast scheduled for next Tuesday at the Colonial Inn.

Trade Board Meet On Monday Night

The Concord Board of Trade will hold its monthly meeting and supper next Monday night May 5 at 6 45 at Howard Johnsons. President Benjamin F Clark will preside. Two speakers are expected to be announced by Past President Edward W Sheehan. This will be the last meeting before suspending for turnout.

Battleground Cafe Safe Recovered After Theft

Concord police recovered the Battleground Cafe safe stolen last December. It contained about $500 in cash and checks, with $30 found in a drawer. The safe, cut open, was located in a lake near Auburn New Hampshire by conservation officers. No suspects or clues have been identified.

Concord Chapter of DeMolay schedules an initiatory degree on May 9 and a mother's degree on May 11 at the Masonic Temple at 7 o'clock. The public is invited. On May 12 the chapter performs the DeMolay degree for Corinthian Lodge.

Heavy Primary Returns Highlight Whitney Lead in District

In the heavy primary, Whitney leads with 1158 votes in Concord while Eisenhower tops Republican tallies with 1272 and Taft has 311. Precinct totals show 656, 463, and 674 votes cast with late counts from Precinct 3 arriving at 4:30 a.m. District delegates and at large candidates receive mixed support among Republicans and Democrats alike.
