Bedford doctor awarded 800 dollars over pony deaths
Sydney B. Eliot of Farquhar County Virginia formerly headed the Willard hospital in Bedford was awarded $800 by a Superior East Cambridge jury for four Shetland ponies killed by a Boston and Lowell Railroad car on September 11 1904 in West Bedford. The article notes his generosity to local youths who rode his ponies and mentions his move to Virginia where his herd now numbers over 200.
