A jumble of notes covers Roosevelts taxation talk and Wall Street bets, Panama Canal rents, a kidnapping case, telegraph and telephone tech, a medal for a war general, and a wedding announcement. It names Roosevelt, Panama, Germany, and public figures, with scattered dates and places.
Annual town meeting at 7 30 PM in Walker Street Hall with seating for 100 more than the school auditorium. Twenty six articles on the warrant include officer and committee reports and filling town office vacancies. Two articles relate to General Laws Chapter on policemen and firemen. Finance Committee does not recommend adoption. Appropriations include salaries for inspectors and wardens, nurse, street work, water mains, and Memorial Day. totals show various amounts and transfers to cemetery maintenance and funds for Martinez and Park cemetery plots.
Maynard friends and former pupils celebrate the unveiling of a bronze plaque in the Assembly room honoring Francis S Brick for twelve years as Maynard superintendent. Brick served overseas with the A E F after leaving Maynard and is fondly remembered by the town.
Funeral service for Mrs. Kusti Jussila Maynard was held at the Lutheran Church at two o clock in the afternoon conducted by Reverend O A Koski, with the body present for burial rites.
Reeded by Acid Anthony Columbo of 32 Waltham Street suffered serious burns after an incident involving Ss. Authorities have not released further details.

At the Ladies' Auxiliary whist party, prizes were awarded to Sadie King Addie Wolfe and Nellie Sun. The event occurred Monday afternoon with attendees from the Auxiliary and related groups.

Funeral service for Mrs Addie M Stetson Oliver 88 was held this afternoon at her Central Street home. The Rev A M Jeffries pastor of the Baptist church officiated with her children and five great grandchildren in attendance.
A special meeting of the Maynard Tax Payers Association will be held in the high school building to discuss local taxation issues and potential budget concerns.

In a historic flood the Assabet River surged through the town washing out Maynard Bridge and flooding basements. Water reached high levels near the American Powder Company, Standard Oil on Lowell Road, and Macone's garage, while ice jams caused additional damage to mills and shops. Traffic rerouted to Acton as garages, choked by ice, were torn from foundations.
