Concord announces a spring leader training course from 10 a m to 2 30 p m on Monday March 19 at the Girl Scout House. The Massachusetts camp craft caravan will teach menu planning paper charts fire building outdoor cooking and knotting. Rev. John D. MacEach, a Plymouth priest of St. Peter's Church, is convalescing at his sister's home in Maynard after a month in hospital following a car accident in Matta pan. Fire and ambulance activity are up with 37 fire alarms and 57 ambulance calls this year. Mr. and Mrs. Osman Chaffee plan trips from Old Bedford Road to Knoxville and then Miami to finish a 10 day vacation. Beverly A. Chaffee, heading Boulder Medical Center physical therapy, recently left for Colorado after earning a Simmons College degree.
Ellen Torstensen was laid to rest in Sleepy Hollow after years of service to the Girl Scouts of West Concord. She led Troop I guiding meetings camping trips and badge work at Boston headquarters teaching girls to become better Scouts and citizens. Three of her girls earned the Golden Eaglet the highest Scout honor, a peak achievement for the West Concord troop.
The North Acton-Nashoba Sports men's Club holds a supper and movie program at 6 30 tonight at the clubhouse on Route 27 North Acton. President Walter Ballard will preside.
Five boys from Rindge Technical High School Cambridge visited Acton High School as part of a Good Government exchange. They attended the Monday town meeting to observe local government in action and report cards were issued Tuesday to Junior-Senior High students with due back by Friday March 16.

It funded $700 for refining two 100 year old cannons used by the Independent Battery on holidays and rejected a bicycle registration bylaw costing $550. It authorized sale of town properties at 6 Belknap Street, 8 Belknap, 10 Belknap and 3 Sudbury Road but took no action on 1, 3, 5 Bedford Street. An industrial commission budgeted $3,500, with $23,000 for a professional reassessment survey. Three new streets—Oxbow Road, Nimrod Drive, Indian Spring Road—were approved.

Concord report says the seniors won the intramural basketball tournament by winning all three games led by Andy Horne and Al Dougherty. Sophomores were runners up, freshmen took third, juniors finished last with many ineligible. Fraser and Anderson starred for the freshmen. 66 15 upset over the juniors.
Concord Rod & Gun Club hosted a pistol meet where Rod & Gunners scored 1267 points over Company H's 1196. Bill Ryan and Dick Tourdelot led the Sportsmen with Warren Payne, Richard Tombeno, and John Oakman close behind. Harold Johnston led the guardsmen with Paul Dee and others following. A rematch is planned soon.
Concord High School juniors Concord Paul Herlihy and Wallace Crawford have been elected co captains of the indoor track team. They replace graduate Capt Al Dougherty. Herlihy runs the relay and 600, while Crawford specializes in the dash and relay events.
