Miss Virginia Pier formerly employed on detaildomts in North Cohtway is now aged in war work in San Francisco Concord Grange and Bot Bert. The new meeting winter board held on Monday aerogh.

The historic North Bridge near Monument Street, famed as the Minuteman route, faced flooding from heavy rain Tuesday. Highway department workers battled overflow as ice and water from Concord River threatened the bridge about 1000 feet from the Lowell Street crossing, with remnants of an old ice fill still visible.
Nazareth Sperandio, formerly co owner of Marlboro Country Club and Framingham resident, becomes greenskeeper of Concord-Concord club on March 1. A Framingham graduate Sperandio joined golf scene early, helped buy Marlboro Country Club in 1941, later enlisted in the U S Navy. He and his wife welcomed their first son. Sperandio is a member of the England Greenskeeping club.

Mr and Mrs Harry E Burk of I Davis Court Concord celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last Friday They were married in East Boston on March 2 1924 and have lived in Concord nearly 15 years Mr Burk is employed locally The text also mentions a Mildred reference.
Concord mourns Jarvis Derby 47 lifelong resident and World War I veteran. Funeral services at First Parish Meeting House conducted by Rev. Da sites and Rev. George with Corinthian Lodge A M officers in attendance. Survived by widow MacAusland, 92 year old mother Mrs Elizabeth Derby and son Stephen Derby. burial with Masonic honors.
The Woman's Club of Mexico West Concord met Friday at Odd Fellows hall West Concord for a regular session and International Relations Day. Speaker Mrs Roland F DeMille presented motion pictures of life in Mexico. Music by the Girl Scouts chorus directed by Mrs Fred Gill and Mrs Percy Kelley. John Bacon Middlesex school student spoke at the recent New England junior town meeting aired over a Boston radio station.
Ensign Thomas Perkins Brooks Jr of Concord New Hampshire listed as missing has been awarded the Air Medal for meritorious aerial achievement against Japanese forces. The citation notes his pilotage of a carrier torpedo plane in attacks on the Volcano Islands and other targets in the Central Pacific theater.
At the State Armory Captain Dorothy Macone read orders for Tenth Company. Lectures by Mary Symes discussed litter and medical topics. Residents praised for war relief activities and sewing efforts. Concord's Fourth Company M S G officers reported on state and federal services.
Concord residents at the annual town meeting approved a total of 17 875 for snow removal next year, including 10 875 for a new wall dozer and 3 500 more than asked. The vote favored next year’s snow effort over a separate 1 000 for mosquito control as officials project a tax rate similar to last year despite higher appropriations.
