John Varney visits from South Dakota to see Mr and Mrs Israel Jannell. Dr Rich owns a historic warming pan from the Potter family. The Ladies Benevolent society plans a supper and entertainment Saturday. The Citizens caucus made four changes in nominations. The Rich child improves and Mrs Rich recovers from bronchitis. Town officers and various board members are listed. John Murphy, 12, injured at the mill, seven stitches. Joseph Redfearn dies after long West Acton residence. funeral at Glenwood. Temperance rally planned at Music hall with speakers Wylie and Penniman. Associated Templars elect officers. Deacon Luther Peters of Berlin dies at 88 or nearly 89. burial at Hudson Main Street cemetery.
Town meeting is set for next Monday with four articles in the warrant all about routine annual business. Prophecy fills the air as license supporters push a license vote while opponents mostly stay quiet. Supporters for Cheney and Higgins back their candidate for the selectmen’s board. Rum appears as the central issue of the hour.
Congressman Elijah A. Morse presents a town hall talk in Hudson on the Social Side of Congressional Life in Washington next Wednesday evening. Congressman Apsley presides and tickets are available at C. H. Persons' piano rooms. Seats expected to fill quickly.

Sudbury will reopen for the spring term the last Monday in March and the first day of April. A town meeting for officers and business is set for the fourth Monday in the month. A concert March 13 at town hall, under Goodman council, Royal Arcanum, features home talent by the Sudbury brass band and orchestra directed by Geo. W. Hunt. The rubber trimmed Goddard buggy harness voting contest result will be announced that evening.
Lenten services held at St. Bridget's church every Wednesday at 7 30. This Wednesday a Boston priest will organize a league at Sacred Heart. Rev Fr Crowe to be assisted by visiting priests each Wednesday. Episcopal mission moves Lent Sunday services to 10 45 a m on the third Sunday monthly with morning prayers litany and an address. Other Sundays at 4 p m feature evening prayer and an address. Friday Lenten services at 7 30. The society supports a great need and does a grand work in the community.
The town elects candidates for town officer posts with races for clerk treasurer selectman and other roles. Voters will choose among listed contenders with ballots casting their verdict on governance and local services.
All motion must reach the office of publication by Tuesday night for articles. Advertising matter and subscriptions may be left at H. L. Whitcomb bookstore and subscriptions at the post office.
