Concord Lions Club held its installation night on Tuesday at the Musketaquid Musicians Clubhouse with 78 in attendance. Charles Wear became president, succeeding Osman C. Chaffee, as officers including Kendall Rae Lortz and others were named for the new year. Perfect attendance pins and various service awards were presented to multiple members, plus Wright received a membership key for recruiting two new members.
The Concord Board of Selectmen will hold its next regular meeting Monday night July 2 at the Town House with Chairman Frankin R. Johnson presiding. This is one of only two July meetings, the other on Monday July 16.

Concord registrations for the Rose Hawthorne School continue next Sunday with two sessions. About 15 more children were enrolled last Sunday, bringing total pre primary and primary enrollment to roughly 65 in the area.

The 212 Club presents its annual Night before the Fourth at Ride out Playground in West Concord next Tuesday evening. A slate of Hollywood attractions runs from dusk to midnight including musicals car toons Abbott and Costello and Technicolor reels. A 6 pm baseball game for boys aged nine to twelve under "Bric" MacWilliams will precede the program. Admission is free with a refreshment booth on site. In case of rain the events move to July 4. Ample parking available.
Two men from Concord Draft Board No 114 are assigned to Army service at the Boston Army Base. Antonio Scimone of Old Bedford Road Concord and Raymond J Sheridan Jr of 12 Hillside Street Maynard filled the June local quota and July call is being prepared.
Concord launches its eight week summer playground program with about 250 children enrolled across Emerson and Rideout playgrounds. On opening day 110 attended Rideout and 125 at Emerson as the Concord Recreation Commission outlines activities, staffing changes, a Friday costume party, and upcoming bicycle and ball events with visiting Boston youths.
Concord residents Mr and Mrs A Pulis announce Camp Thoreau at Old Ma Road in the Finnish dance hall for an eight week period starting May 2. Enrollment expected around 25 with postm ing, outdoor, and home activities. A Parents Day will be observed.
